The staff was extremely nice and firendly and the overall atmosphere was family-like. I liked the "decor" of the place and the fact that it was clean.

I stayed in a single room which was a bit crammy but nicely decorated and eqipped with a tv set. The hotel is not in the very center but it offers easy access vy bus to the main part of the city.

Very nice bldg with friendly, helpful people. Comfortable room with a nice breakfast.

A lot of people people sharing one bathroom

room was very small, decor dated, there was only a trickle of water in the tap..............bed was poor quality..........didn't enjoy my stay..

  • Family with children

We arrived early ( 10:30 am) and tired. We were greeted so warmly and allowed to check in! It was great. A beautiful large family room. The food was great the staff so helpful. The hostess so helpful and friendly. We were a short bus ride away for the castle and the royal mile Our only regret is that we stayed only one night. We hope to be in the beautiful city of Edinburgh again and stay for many days at the Martin guest house. Our son happily carried the play sword given to him throughout our vacation.

  • Family with children

The owner was very nice and the location was good for going to the airport.

    Cleanliness of bathroom.

  • Family with children

The whole experience was great for me and my family. We got a very warm welcome when we arrived from the owner who was very helpful. Denise told us how to get into town and gave us the route we would need to take to return. The apartment was very nice and was bright and well decorated with everything necessary provided. The breakfast was first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.

  • Group of friends

The Guest house was spoteless and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. They couldnt do enough to help all the visitors. The cooked breakfast in the morning was also a bonus.Would definetly stay there again.

  • Older travelers

The Guest House is well located it is close to transport and the city. There are some good restaurants nearby. The accomodation was spacious but dirty. There was a washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen. The breakfast was really good and the staff were pretty helpful

We didn't like the fact that no one was there to greet us when we arrived. There was a dog running around in the hallway and in one if the guest rooms on the beds. Our room needed a good clean, The microwave had thick fat in it and the oven hadn't been cleaned for ages The floor obvously hadn't been swept or washed before we arrived, This could be great accomodation there were some really good things about it. The owner was away so that could have been a factor.

  • Group of friends

Landlady is very nice and very thoughtful, she will explain the city guide and the breakfast is great! The location is only 9 min by bus from Prince street. From the airport by bus is about 45 minutes maximum, basically you take the airlink bus 100 stop at west end (around 30 min), then take the Lothian bus no.10 (9 min) that take you to ViewForth stop where it is close to the guesthouse. Bus stop is 20 yards away from the guest house and it is located in a quiet area.

Extra 4% charge if you use credit card, make sure you bring enough cash

The owner is extremely friendly and makes everything possible to make you feel at home.

  • Group of friends

Elizabeth was very warm and welcoming, breakfast was very nice.

Parking would have preferred a better one

  • Family with children

I liked how helpful and friendly Denise was. The cooked breakfast was lovely. Denise also provided a tray for breakfast in our cottage for two of the mornings as we were not able to make breakfast at the guest house. Having our own kitchen was wonderful. Two TV's that played DVD's. Close to Tesco and restaurants. Not far to Metro and buses. We got a bus from Tesco out to Westfields. Takeaway shop not far and cinema a short walk away. It was great in the cottage. The blind was broken when we arrived but this was changed immediately which was great.

The room was not serviced daily. It would have been nice to be able to leave the towels somewhere to get them changed and when not wanting them changed more rails to hang them would have been good.

  • Couple

The owner was great. Very friendly. Location was good for the price we paid I would go back again.

The breakfast time not great for the weekend. The bathroom extremely small.

  • Group of friends

Excellent staff and a great host. Wonderful breakfast.

Through no fault of the hotel our booking had not been passed on to the owner so our arrival was a surprise to them. Luckily there was a room free!

  • Group of friends

Really lovely B&B, room was immaculate and the staff friendly and helpful even though very busy over the rugby weekend.

Would have appreciated a slightly later check out but only because we loved our room so much!
